He takes everything into account when planning training, including your diet, job and lifestyle, to ensure that sessions are tailored to you. He's encouraging, friendly, professional, ridiculously fit, and will push you to your limit, (not beyond it, thankfully!) and will then work with you on expanding those limits. Thanks to him I'm over 25 pounds lighter, the healthiest I've ever been, and have much better attitudes towards fitness and food.

NEW TO THE GYM - FAT LOSS & HEALTH Olive Somerville (Lost 1st 12.7lb Weight / 7% Body Fat & 15.5cm Waist reduction) My husband and myself felt we needed to do something to improve our overall wellbeing and fitness. We contacted Tom and our journey began. We were both apprehensive, especially me, as a fitness regime is something quite alien to me although my husband did swim several times a week. In February 2015 I started my sessions with Tom and am delighted to say they have been a great success.Exercising is not my favourite pastime but the encouragement and support from Tom has been a tremendous help, I started of at 75.6kg (11st 12.7lbs), my blood pressure was 177/88, so at 5' 2'' tall, quite unhealthy. In the 6 months I have been working with Tom my blood pressure has gone down to 140/65 and my weight is now 63.7kg (10st) and I have also lost 15.5cm from my waist and my fat content has gone down from 42.2% to 35.3%.
Tom has been very matter of fact and professional in his approach and made me feel very comfortable working with him. He has taken the time to explain what he is hoping to achieve when giving exercises to do and although naturally pushes to achieve goals, has done so steadily and not pushing me ahead of what I am able. He gives a personalised training plan as we all have different aims and goals.
Like others before me I have joined slimming clubs and lost weight but put it all back on quite quickly as I didn't understand the underlying concept of keeping your body healthy. Tom has also explained about diet and gave a healthy eating plan which was adapted as needed to maintain weight loss and stay healthy. This was of great benefit to curb those sugar cravings we all get from time to time and continue in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and a steady return to a healthy weight, blood pressure and all the other benefits that come along with it.
If anyone had said to us at Christmas we would be in the gym on our holidays 11 out of 14 mornings to keep us from feeling sluggish, we would have laughed. My husband and myselffeel so much better than we did in February (he has already reached the goal he set but is continuing in the gym as am I to keep up the good work) and it is thanks to Tom's expertise and encouragement we have come this far.

FAT/WEIGHT LOSS David Chirgwin (Lost 5 stone & counting) I have been a client of Tom’s for almost a year. When I started I was seriously overweight and took very little exercise, and as I approached middle age I was starting to get concerned about my health. Tom designed a programme of weekly workout sessions, nutrition advice and simple exercises to do at home, and with his help I have now lost over 4 stone and feel much fitter.
Initially I didn’t know what to expect, and I was surprised in several ways by Tom. Firstly, the breadth of his knowledge is amazing – he is well versed in exercise techniques, physiology, nutrition, psychology and motivation, and is always able to make a positive contribution to each situation or problem. Secondly, the variety of our workout sessions is excellent – I don’t think I have had any two sessions the same. Tom introduces new kinds of exercise, new combinations or sequences, even different locations, and this keeps each session different and interesting. Thirdly, Tom’s attitude is entirely positive – he is encouraging at all times, even at the start when my efforts were rather feeble, and this helps to keep me positive about the whole programme as well.
Previously I have joined Slimming World and lost a significant amount of weight, but got rather bored and de-motivated with it and ended up putting all the weight back on again after I stopped. Working with Tom, the difference is that we look at the whole body not just food. I am lighter now, but also fitter, more flexible, and better balanced in terms of posture. After losing 5 stone I am still as motivated now as I was in the beginning, and am building the exercise into my daily life. The fitter I get, the more types of exercise I can do, and I’m even starting to enjoy some of it!
I have some way to go yet before I fully achieve my weight and fitness goals, but I am confident that with Tom’s help and guidance it is going to be possible. I would recommend anyone in my position to consider working with Tom.
LEAN UP & FITNESS Mark Wood (General Health & Well-being) During the last six months I have always found Tom to be extremely knowledgeable regarding all aspects of Personal Fitness, not only providing advice on exercises; but also nutrition. Tom has taught me that the right diet is as important as the right exercises in achieving your goals. Tom is always happy to answer any questions that you have without any over complicated jargon.
Tom provides tailored training plans and periodically reviews and reassesses your plan. He has helped me to see great results and achieve my desired goals. In the past, I have had several failed attempts to go to the Gym. I would periodically join, pay my monthly Gym subscription, but then never actually go! I no longer think of it as something to endure and avoid; something I would never have said six months ago!

EXTREME ENDURANCE CHALLENGE PREPARATION Bob Askey (Trained for & Completed his 1000 mile walk) I’m 47 years old and until Easter this year (2012) I hadn’t exercised this millennium and had become significantly overweight. This was not the best starting point for my 1000 mile MS Charity walk next year, but Tom’s been assisting me with dietary advice and with training. As a result of his carefully planned programme and through his encouragement I have lost a great deal of weight (with more to come) and I’ve become considerably fitter and stronger. I believe that without Tom’s skillful assistance my goal would not be realisable. For any in doubt that they’re too old or too unfit to achieve these things I urge you to think again and go for it! I am very grateful to Tom for his help in assisting me with my Multiple Sclerosis charity walk.
SIZE & DEFINITION Will Mansell I had been working out for approximately 3-4 years prior to training with Tom. I had reached a plateau and become unsure of how to move forward with my training. Tom has helped me focus on areas of improvement, especially hamstring flexibility and I have improved my deadlift form considerably. I have a clear workout programme, and I am making steady improvements with my weight and body fat percentage. I have managed the difficult goal of increasing my strength whilst also managing to lose a good amount of fat and lower my waist circumference significantly.
