This is the very tough first physical test the potential Marines must pass before going onto their further training. Why not give it a go and see how close you can get to their standards.

Cardio Test
Your first exercise is a 3 mile run in two parts. You have to to run 1.5 miles at 2% incline on the treadmill in <12 minutes 30 seconds. Then have a 60sec rest before again running another 1.5miles at 2% incline but this time in <10 minutes 30 seconds.

Muscular Strength/Endurance
- Press ups: complete as many full press ups as possible in 2 mins (60 press ups target)
2 min rest then . . .
- Sit ups: complete as many full sit ups as you can in 2 mins (80 sit ups target) Fingers on temples, elbows to knees
2min rest then . . .
- Overhand grip pull ups: Full Lockout at bottom, chin above bar at top, no momentum assist, knees below waist (target 6+)

Use the calculation below to get a score, any score above 0 is very impressive and your ready to sign up!
E1: First 1.5 mile run
E2: Second 1.5 mile run
E3: No. of press-ups in 2 minutes
E4: No. of sit-ups in 2 minutes
E5: Pull-ups

Challenge scores are calculated using:
Score= (12.5-E1)*6 + (10.5-E2)*6 + E3-60 + E4-80 + (E5-6)*10
